Bussinyagirl Cheeks Driving the wrong way? No, he wasn't. And even if the protesters blocked a few of the on ramps its I-5. It runs from San Yesidro in California to the Canadian border. The driver could have gotten on the freeway anywhere North or south of Seattle. Watching the video numerous times the driver swerves right to pass on the right hand side of the van. There are numerous individuals standing on the shoulder. As he passes the van he swi gs left to get back in the traffic lanes. Where the women were standing. He likely could not even see them until until he passed the van. I've actually been expecting something like this to happen for some time. The 1st Amendment affirms your right to peacefully protest and voice your grievances. It does not affirm your right to riot or impede others going about their lawful business. Nor does the 1st Amendment give anyone the right to silence others.

@A.Slickawikajic Conflict resolution in this case. Get a grip. The officer named literally had no time to even learn what was going on when things went South. Things went South because of the girl who was killed. It's easy after the fact to play the "he should have done this" or he could have done that". The tragedy here one young girl is dead over what most likely some petty bullcrap.

I'm sorry, but this is a dog and pony show. Pure and simple. Even if the Senate approves this does exactly what. Besides removing Trump from potentially running for office. His reputation is in in the toilet. I seriously doubt his health would take a run in 2024.

One question. Just how much does the California State DNR or Forest Service do to clear out undergrowth and scrup to limit the fuel supply to these fires. Or is this prevented rue to policy or legal actions on the part of "environmentists". There are multiple parts of the problem. 1) Fires are likely part of the lifecycle of the ecosystems. Also fires resulting from dry summers 2) Overdevelopment and people living in areas at risk to wildfires. 3) Under or complete lack of management by state and county agencies. I hate to say this but paying to manage wild fire risks nay take tax dollars but is most likely cheaper than just trying to stop fires once they start. If people with homes had to pay an extra surcharge n their property taxes to manage that risk. Well. They choose to live there. 4) The Human Factor. Idiots who are careless with smoking materials, campfires etc. That is one thing that you can try and educate people about. But nature keeps creating a worse model of idiot.

Probably. And with social media it will continue to get worse.

I deplore political violence no matter who does. No matter their political beliefs. But this is what happens when for months we see politically related violent behavior and actions in support of a cause which many can easily support. Abstractly is the Capital campus in DC really any different than a district police station in Minneapolis, Portland or Seattle? A federal building in Portland that also houses a Federal Coury House? Political violence that has taken place with practically no repercussions for those involved.

This may piss some people off but. 1) Since when did working for the government insure lifetime employment with no risk of getting terminated or laid off? 2) Have Federal agencies or departments become bloated with additional layers of management? If so to whose benefit besides those employed there? 3) If government agencies have become bloated has the bloat affected the agencies/departments primary mission. At what point does the agency/department primary function become purpetuating the agency. I think most people can agree that government has grown too big. But they cannot agree on which part of government to cut.

Deadliest? Has ABC News never heard of Peshtigo. Anywhere from 1200 to 2500 deaths. Happened the same time as the Chicago Fire.

So if travels bans are OK now. Why was it racist for Trump to institute a travel ban from China?

Given some of the past history of the area the comment about it being between two groups smells like gang violence to me.

@Emily Bearden Fine. I understand that. Get rid of the bad apples. Ageed. More selective hiring policies. I'm fine with that. Decriminalizing personal drug use. Pot's OK. Addictive drug use I'd prefer to see treatment. Pushers. No. Defund the police completely. Not only no but hell no.
