My sister had a 124 Spyder. If it sat for two weeks the battery was dead. Did the Italians learn automotive electrical systems from the Brits?

I don't know about that. I've heard of some pretty awesome electrics out there.

Crappy build quality, shite electrical systems, tractor engines and rust. At least the 240s got the rust part down pat.

In the US is really depended a lot what part of the country you were in. If you were in an area that used road salt. Everything rusted. That said certain makes or models rusted worse than others.

I wonder just how many parts on a Ferrari or any other exotic are pulled from parts bins. Things like suspension bushings, valve guide seals, fuel injectors, brake calipers, master cylinders, steering rack etc. Yes I expect the engine and transmission components to be from the manufacturer. But if there are parts that aredourced from another manufacturer or a third party source I wonder if Fereari or other manufacturers sell them with an added on price because they are Ferrari etc parts. And remember. Even a non exotic collector car can be expensive to repair. For some makes parts are readily available. It's been said that you can build a completely new Tri 5 Chevy, Mustang, Camaro and a few other cars from parts. But other brands or models. It's a different story.

I remember the first one of these I saw in 73 or 74. Broke down on the side of road.

If each one came with an Emma Peel in her leathers from the Avengers they'd be perfect.

General advice when disassembling anything for repair work or other reasons. Get some plastic bags like those sold for food storage etc. Place all of the fasteners and related hardware in labeled bags. For example Left Bank Exhaust Manifold Screws and Washers. Also it is a good idea to write the fastener size, type and grade on the bag. In the US we used bags for U-Line in various sizes. Also on this engine I would imagine the head should probably be replaced due to being torqued to a certain setting and then being stretched. Say 70nm + x°

Too bad the other American V-8 engined car of the time never really went beyond the prototype stage. The still born AMX/3. A much better looking car than than the Pantera. There was or is an ongoing project to produce replicas.

I remember the article in Road & Track on the Jerrai. For weird uses of a Ferrari in a mid engined location theres the 59 or 61 Rambler Ametican 2 door wagon Ferambo

The Chrysler Big Block only weighed around 35 lbs/16kg more than the 4.2 liter Jag

I know it probably requires a lift but does the engine and transmission in this car when it was built get installed from underneath mounted on an engine cradle?

240Zs if driven year round in the northern tier of the US rusted completely away in about three years.

Ford knew far more about actually building cars than Jaguar ever did. If that bruises any egos. Tough.

Why not just check all the clearances with a feeler gage and go from there?
1
The reason. I'm willing to bet it's spelled Renault.

The Z slammed the coffin lid shut. The Miata nailed it down.

Up until the time of its production the second best looking car ever produced in Britian. I mean let's face it. The XKE is and always will be #1. I'm thinking that if somebody wanted to do a modern take on the Interceptor what would you use for the drive train. IRS for sure. But what about the front axle assembly. The front end from a Mercedes all wheel drive? Resurrect the front diff from an AMC Eagle?. Engine? Gotta be a V-8. OHV simply because it's easier to package. LS? New Hemi?
