@MilitaryHistoryVisualized Just look at the Sherman being called the "Ronson". I'll accept the Tommy Cooker. The Sherman was held up as being prone to fire due to its fuel. Yet nobody says anything about all the other tanks that u see d petrol. The Sherman's that burned early were usually burned because of ammunition fires. Wet stowage largely eliminated that problem. Was the Sherman inferior to the Panther. Tactically yes. Strategically no. Let's not forget the Panther weighed 10 tons more than the Sherman. A lot of that was in the frontal armour. Plus the Panther had arguably the best tank gun of WWII. But myths persist. As much are they are dispelled. They get to be resurrected.
