  1. Simon, lets not forget the discriminatory past of English law. Part of which Guy Fawlkes Night is rooted in. Specifically anti Catholic policies and laws. Regardless of how one feels about various religous sects within Cristianity or other religions. If one does believe in individual freedom then one must respect the rights of those other individuals. There are a couple of buts here of course. The first is those individuals must respect your rights. The second is those other beliefs, political persuasions etc cannot infringe on the rights of others. PS Given Labour's policies Guy Fawlke might be held up as a hero.
