  1. Im going to ask the liaded question about the elephant in the room. If you have students who gained admission to a prestigeous university not on merit but solely on another criteria (1). And then later drop out because they can not handle the work. Who then benefited. And l don't care what the criteria is. Poor, racial, gender, whatever. Applications completely blind as far as the reviewers go. No personal data aside from acedemic records. Let the chips fall where they may. The only exception is if the school is funded by tax payer dollars US citizens or residents get priority. 1) I don't think minority students that apply to schools such as MIT & Cal Tech are dummies.
