  5. The nudity in saunas is common in parts of the Upper Midwest a d Great Lakes. Regions that have a heavy Norwegian, Swedish and Finnlander population. But it's mostly family saunas at home.

  8. I think you are refering to awning windows in the US. Have them in our bedrooms. High enough for privacy but will open to about 85° from vertical. In that position virtually the whole window is open to the breeze. Crank open just like a casement window.

  9. Heating systems for homes in the US vary by region to a large degree. Using natural gas in many areas is often the most economical means of getting the needed BTUs. Just how that heat is delivered can be forced air, radiant floor or baseboard radiators. The old cast iron radiators aren't used to much in new construction due to cost. In some areas electric baseboard is used but that will only be in those areas with cheap electricity. In the Northeast many homes still use oil. Generally I think today's homes built in the US are built as cheaply as possible.

  10. The quality of "ice cream" varies widely in the US. In reality you can get just about anything from low grade ice cream to very good quality gelato without too much trouble. In addition their are also frozen yogurt and custard options. I don't even bring up the soft crap that Dairy Queen and others sell. You get what you pay for.
