Anything can be recycled. One reason that things sometimes aren't is economics. If the product to be recycled costs more to transport to a facility to do the processing their is no incentive. How yo solve this problem. One way would be have local regional facilities that recycle the materials. A also happen to believe that plastics used in packaging, bottles etc should be limited to a few certain types to make recycling easier. Engineering plastics (1) are a different matter. Also IMO styrofoam should be banned.

 @desertstar223 Enough energy and they can be reduced to their component elements. Just don't count on renewables to do the job.

@eugene9000pro Do you know why plastics were developed in the first place? Or why the chemical industry started. The chemical industry started because of coal tar. First major products dyes. Once we stated using kerosene for lighting the petrochemical industry was born. And once we have a 100% renewable energy sector or cheap fusion the petrochemical industry is not going to disappear. Let's just admit what the real core problem is. Too damn many people. How do you solve that?
