@SandymoorFerrariClub If you want to use that arguement the protesters have no legal right to prevent others from going about their lawful business.

I can accept the climate is waming. I'll even accept that human beings have something to do with it. I do not acept that it is ALL due to human activity. All through the current interglacial climate has varied on a seemingly regular pattern. The Roman and Medieval Warm periods are real things. As were the climate down turns durning the so called Dark Ages and the Little Ice Age. For one example of varying climate and its effectsthere is a mountain pass between Italy and Switzerland. It recently (2005 or so) opened to foot traffic. One early explorer on foot found an artifact that turned out to be a 4500 year old birch quiver. She turned the artifact over to archeologists in Bern. They conducted further searches that found artifacts dated to known warm periods. And none to known cold periods. Now this was before massive burning of fossil fuels (people have been burning coal and peat longer than you think). Just what caused the climate changes in the past. Could maybe the Sun be more variable than we think on a time scale of say 800 years between peaks.

@TransoceanicOutreach See comment above. Eventually someone is going to get seriously injured. I just hope no one gets killed. Personally l would prefer to see clean power production and cleaner vehicles. But as much as l may desire that we are not there yet in terms being able to produce the power and supply the systems needed to support that. Plus l predict in the west if and when deposits of elements critical elements are discovered certain groups will move to block their extraction.

@robertjohnston8690 No, we are not close to the "red zone". But the Earth evidently did come pretty close during the last Glcial Advance. The red zone is down around d 150ppm.
