  1. It would be interesting to see just what the actual forces are that the rifle is subjected to with and with out the compensator when measured with accelerometers. In terms of design (I'm not a firearms designer by any means) I'm wondering if it is really required to have both parts of the system gas driven. Unless they want to reduce wear on the gear system by not using the two gears to drive the counter mass forward.
