  1. Video games are fictional. Meanwhile, there is plenty of real world violence committed by the US military, and a culture built around worshiping military might. The whole reason the AR-15 is so popular is that people want to look like US soldiers; it's not even a sophisticated or high powered gun. The reason people think violence is the solution to all their problems is the government acts this way all the time. The US government carries out hundreds of mass shootings every day. A good place to start curbing gun violence would be to rein in the military industrial complex. Before I ever took the guns away from any citizen, I would take the guns away from the Pentagon and CIA. I would create the badly needed social safety net, so fewer people turn to violent crime. This would include Medicare For All with full mental health coverage, given that most gun deaths are suicides.
