This teacher is not a trans woman. He is a cis man who was making a severely misguided attempt to be an "ally" by proving that one can still operate wood shop machinery while dressed like that. Previously, some idiot had made the argument that trans women could not use woodcutting tools because their breasts would get in the way, therefore they shouldn't be allowed to teach. This teacher thought he was doing the trans community a favor by being a lightning rod, but all he was doing was caricaturing a marginalized group that already faces extreme prejudice, and he was speaking over a group instead of letting them speak for themselves. If you're going to blame the trans community for the actions of someone who isn't even trans, then you're a bigot attacking a strawman, simple as that.

While the teacher's intentions might have been good, I still get uncomfortable when cis people act like they're doing us trans people a favor by acting as lightning rods like this. Speaking on behalf of those who are perfectly capable of speaking for themselves is not good allyship, and neither is playing into the caricatures and negative stereotypes that people like Carlson already believe. The fact is that you're not going to be able to tell who is trans and who isn't just by looking, unless they decide to tell you.

@AdamBladeTaylor In that case, it sounds to me like the teacher was playing into their negative stereotypes. A better point could have been made using normal body proportions, which is what trans people are going to have anyway. All this has accomplished is to attract bigots who point to this teacher and say, "All trans people are like this," and, "Enough is enough."
