Masks fool facial recognition software, make it harder for traffic cameras to ID you, and can muffle your voice. Gloves ensure that you aren't leaving fingerprints everywhere. It's not that you're being forced to wear masks and gloves, it's that you're being given an excuse to conceal your identity. This is a huge victory against the surveillance state. Or you can be like these idiots, provoking confrontations, drawing undue attention to yourself, getting filmed in viral videos, and violating what was already the law before the pandemic by spitting on or hitting other people. Yeah, that'll get the government off your back.
