  1. Well, it's like what the GOP just did in the US. Federal minimum wage is still $7.25, but instead of raising that, they gave people a $1,000 tax cut. That might sound like a lot at once, but if you were to raise the min wage to $15, that increase of $7.75 becomes $1,000 in a little under a month.
