  1. We have shifted out attention to buying land or buying an old home to tear down. then building what we want. Home builders in my area are getting desperate. I was also told they are teaming up with local banks to create lucrative home building packages to sweeten the deals up. Everyone is working together to come up with something. Material costs dropping. I'm thinking building or scooping up a newly built home will be the best bang for your buck especially if going the "one and done dream home approach".
