I'm seeing people who are in love with their interests rates simply turning their homes into rentals rather than selling. It makes no sense so sell their home (for whatever reaaon) to get the same home or smaller for 50% more. Rents in my area are crazy. A home that was once $1800 is now pushing $4k. It's crazy.

@jfkst1 It allows you to keep your home, charge more for rent, put money in your pocket (and someone paying your mortgage) to offset the next place you rent or buy. It's a wash.

@EclipseEditzx3 rent will go down when rates go down and homes become affordable again. People would rather rent right now than get tied into all the additional costs of home ownership and an unknown future in the market. Rent won't go down till the market crashes. Now only are rent prices super high, they literally get taken within the hour where I live.
