  1. For what its worth we tend to pronounce is "Melbern" with "`~ern" instead of "~ourne".

  2. The other part I find assuming (as an Army guy) is that HMAS Cerberus is now the name of the RAN's training school for naval ratings (still in Victoria). I'm unsure if the dog is "guarding the gates of hell" into Cerberus, or guarding the gates facing in so those posted to Cerberus can't escape.
