  2.  @inso80  They aren't part of the Official Russian Armed forces. At best they are mercenaries. Laws of Armed Conflict are pretty particular as to who rates POW status.

  3.  @inso80  Except they aren't part of the Russian command structure. They operate outside Russian military command (unless you can tell me which HQ they report to). They are just like partisan., foreign fighters, or other "irregulars".
