  2. This will have addition flow on effects given USMC's refocus on basically "the beach". This has lead to the USMC trimming its tanks and reducing its artillery, to focus on the littoral environment and not much further. The idea being the USMC seizes the beachhead and then US Army takes over and moves further inland. This exploitation will take longer if there are no vessels to bring them ashore.
