Furthermore, when examining the Russian public budget, nearly 40% of it is allocated to defense spending. This allocation, rather than showcasing strength, reflects severe weakness and fragility. The challenge for your country is to revert to its pre-war state. Diplomatic ties with most nations are strained. However, there's another underlying cause for the conflict. The prospect of Ukraine joining the EU posed a threat to Russia as it could potentially supply the entire EU with gas in one go. This prospect unsettled Russian authorities. Unfortunately, Russia's actions have led to a significant deterioration in relationships with major customers. From supplying 40% of Europe's gas consumption, it has dwindled to 8%. Eventually, the remaining percentage will diminish in the long run as alternative solutions are sought.
