There needs to be some perspective here. How much does it cost to become an ICE car dealer? In Australia, it costs typically a minimum of $1.5 million for a small dealership, before you sell the first car. And to meet minimum licensing requirements and training mechanics as some leave or retire, another $million or so per year.

@kirkjohnson6638 ;Yes, parts for stock like the special electric motors, the motor/traction/braking control computer, model specific parts. No different that what dealers have to spend each time a car maker brings out a new model, regardless of whether its ICE or EV. Model-specific parts need to be stocked, mechanics given update training - it doesn't matter what the new model is. Dealers would have had to spend just as much if not more when they started putting diesel engines in SUV's.
