  1. This scene sounds unlikely. Back in those days, one phone call would get a D-notice imposed. D-notices were a voluntary news suppression system in the national interest, which is not used now, because too many prime-ministers abused it to hide their failings. This scene has the Queen begging and barganing - I don't think so. Back in those days nobody associated smoking with cancer -they only thought it caused coughing. Even doctors smoked.
