  1. Interesting that Hitler thought that an air war with Britain had to happen first, to destroy the RAF and allow an invasion to take place. Churchill didn't think the presences or absence of an effective RAF would make a crucial difference to a large scale invasion. He instead set up a rapid reaction mobile ground force to stop the Germans on whatever beach(s) they decided to land at. This is consistent with the view that if the Germans had proceeded across the Channel when Dunkirk fell, Britain would have been conquered. But Hitler had not prepared for that - he had not expected France to fall so easily. But the film is correct in saying Britain and its allies did not win the war through superior ability - the Germans lost it through making mistakes.

  2. What exactly is this video meant to show? The chap was told he was ok. He looks about the same age as me (about 80), has clearly gone down hill, but the questions are dead easy. He woffles. He couldn't spell d-l-R-o-w. He was given several runs at remembering the three things and got one wrong - a light became a table. With that many runs the three things should be burned into his brain. Reminds me of when my mother had a stroke which caused dementia. Medical types asked the same darn questions multiple times over several days until she got fed up with them. "What day is it? .... Please count backwards from 99? .... Who is the prime minister? etc". Always the same questions asked in the same order. Made me think the doctors were the silly ones, not my mother, who got a near perfect score but 5 minutes normal conversation revealed things were badly wrong. She thought I was my father, who died 40 years before. On being asked how she was going to get home form hospital, she replied "I'll get a taxi, it's not far." Then named the town she originally came from, in another country. Two aspects the stupid doctors didn't pick up, because they were just focused on their form questions and getting to the next patient.
