@untitled06 : Not sloppy at all. Leaving "evidence" behind is a standard police method. It doesn't matter if the suspect destroys it - they are only copies. The originals are kept under lock and key. In court, the rules of evidence require that a custody officer must swear that he had control & possession of the evidence (the originals) at all times. Leaving the room and leaving the copies behind gives the interrogating officer a break, time to think out his next moves, and lets the perp study the copies and think at length how his goose is cooked. Pressure on the cop comes off and pressure on the perpetrator increases. If the suspect is innocent, he won't pay much attention to the copies - he knows it isn't evidence against him.

@nancybeveridgetaylor3256 : Being a retired electronics engineer myself, I have to say that my wife gets these crazy inappropriate urges to throw good valuable stuff out. It's a woman thing. We men just have to accept it. Strangely, despite keeping a very tidy house, when it comes to personal computers, women fill the hard disk up with all sorts of unsorted rubbish, until their one single folder fills up. However, we electronic engineers make good money. So I bought another house to keep my electronics hoard in, and she isn't permitted entry.

@GoGreen1977 The only reason the police were able to pin 82 break & enters and underwear stealing on him is because the stupid idiot documented it all on his computer. It could well be he had done more but a computer he had before broke down or the hard disk crashed.

Contrary to what Grande says, the cops had only tenuous evidence against him until he began to confess when he was interviewed. In the interview he doesn't seem very bright, and Grande says he didn't have friends. Sounds like high functioning autism to me. Seems like he wanted to be caught and put away too. He knew perfectly well he was doing bad things and gave in during the interview quite easily. If he was as half as intelligent as some people assumed, he should have known immediately the tire prints would match hundreds if not thousands of vehicles in the area. The boot tread meant nothing more than another clue - it was a bluff put over by the detective. It probably would have reduced the number of possible vehicles from hundreds down to low tens, but as evidence wouldn't last a minute in court. Unlike what Grande seems to think, being married means nothing. Women are attracted to military men. How do we know it was a happy marriage? A member of my family was considerably autistic, had no friends and couldn't care less what people thought or what their feeling were. He was married (she was a pen-pal), and successful in marriage for 30 years until a heart attack killed him.
