What do you English care about the Chagos? Britain pays for its lease but the US made you an offer you couldn't refuse when you were down and broke in the 1960's and took it over. People born there were deported. Britain no longer has an empire and therefore has no need of Diego Garcia/Chagos. If America wants to keep it, then let America negotiate a new lease and pay rent directly to the owners, now in Mauritius.
