That cop's approach is hilarious - I'm your friend, I'm trying to help you. Well no, he's working to break you, and it worked just fine. Don't Canadian military officers get training on how to interrogate, how to resist interrogation? That's a standard thing in most militaries. All Williams did was let his mind race round in circles, and let the cop know it.
