  1. The manufacturer, AECL, was a government owned corporation who designed and sold Theracs as a sideline. That explains everything as far as I am concerned. Radiotherapy overdoses are not uncommon though. I saw a report that said it happens to about 10% of patients in North America. It happened to my wife - gave her a permanent injury and loss of function. And it wasn't a Therac.
