@bradjohnston8193 : Snipe is actually correct, except for a minor error in floppy size. 1. IBM's German subsidiary DEHOMAG (Deutsche Hollerith-Maschinen company) leased punched card equipment and supplied cards to the Nazi government, for the purpose of processing census data, identify jews & others considered undesirable, and track them through deportation and into the concentration camps. DEHOMAG had a monopoly on punch cards and punch card equipment in Germany at the time. 2. Most IBM System 1's used the standard 8 inch floppy disk, however they could also be had for a short time with the Model 341 drive which used 4 inch floppies. These 4 inch floppies were unique to IBM and were a commercial failure and so are not well known.
