What has refrigerators got to do with it? The electricity consumed by a fridge, averaged over 24 hours, is very small. Other things such as ovens and airconditioners use far more. But this turkey is in fantasy land if he thinks electric vehicles are more energy efficient. It doesn't matter whether you burn a fossil fuel in your self in your car, or it has to be burnt in a power station to supply you with electricity for charging a vehicle, the result is the same. Sure electric motors are very efficient, but you still have the conversion of fossil fuel into electricity and that is not an efficient process, regardless of whether you do it or the power company does it.
