  1. What this video tells me is that the DC-10 had a single point of failure - loss of hydraulic fluid on one side - that leads to a crash. Didn't they do an FMEA (a formal discipline standard in aircraft design, and other industries where faults can lead to deaths - Failure Mode Effects Analysis) on the hydraulic system? Ah, I recall that an FMEA was done by a contractor on the DC-10 cargo door mechanism, which predicted total loss - and Douglas just filed the report and did nothing - and hundreds of people on a Turkish Airlines flight died as a result.
