  1. My pilot experience is limited to a couple of lessons in a Cessna decades ago. Recently for my birthday my wife blew about $300 on a 737 simulator experience. The instructor talked me through landing by means of the autopilot pretty much the same as Pete showed in this video, then let me try it a second time with only a couple of reminder points. I found it surprisingly easy, though in real life I would most likely be really stressed out. One difference is that the instructor told me to use manual braking on the ground. I found that surprisingly difficult. The brakes are not as smooth as in a car and the airplane has enormous inertia. I reckon I would have made any passengers sea sick with my braking. Being rather short (160 cm) it was difficult to reach the wheels down lever. Overall, if I, a 77 year old, can learn this in one lesson, it can't be difficult at all - UNLESS something is wrong with the plane, which is likely to be the case if both pilots are gone/dead/incapacitated (think hijacker shot pilots, collision, or pilots sucked out window).
