  1. As an ancient historian, this is EXACTLY how I feel walking through an ancient site or holding an ancient artifact. Seeing a thumbprint on an Akkadian clay tablet, and realizing that person is thousands of years dead but still connected to us here in the 21st century.

  6. I went a different route...launching the Patreon at 500 subs. I haven't seen any downside. A small cadre of supporters kept the channel afloat through its early months.

John, I read The Fault in Our Stars while working as a teaching assistant for a religious studies class for my Ph.D. We used the book as a textbook to discuss death and mortality, and the students loved it. 90% of my students had read the book already, and it sparked a fevered discussion on "What is a 'good death?' Is there such a thing? How do other religions deal with death and mortality?" Some of the best classroom discussions I've ever lead came out of that class. Best, Andrew

  11. For me it is lack of quality information on how to proceed. I have a YouTube channel...but when do I turn it into a "business?" Do I go with a sole proprietorship? Is that the same as an LLC? So many paths...don't know which one to take.

  12. Yeah I liked how they portrayed the Klingons. They are more diverse and nuanced than the other series where they all dress the same and all act like stereotyped pirates.
