Actually he has a Masters in Theological Studies from one of the best religion schools out there, Harvard Divinity School (in addition to the creative writing degree) and his dissertation falls under what we in the field call "the sociology of religion." What matters in academia is what his dissertation is about...not the discipline on the degree (in Aslan's case, 'sociology' instead of 'religious studies'). He definitely has the right credentials...which makes this poorly done TV show all the more baffling. He should have known better.

  2. I said "religion schools" not "religious schools." Harvard Divinity School is top of its class in the academic field of religious studies and theological studies. Harvard is known for a lot of things, not just law.

  3. John Green, the Vlogbrother and bestselling author, has his BA in religion. Anecdotal evidence, yes, but a religious studies degree (or any humanities degree) doesn't automatically mean a life of low-wages.
