  3.  @rooban989  Sorry, but what sort of life do you think her child is going to have, if that child survives, or that woman's poor parents. They have all had losses that are none of their making. A big punishment is the only deterrent and therefore it must be applied with full force when the crime is so abhorrent as to be the slaying of a pregnant woman and injury to her unborn child.

  5. One the population is so much higher. Two there are more cousin marriages in some populations. Three there maybe both fewer diagnostic ultrasounds and abortions of such dangerous pregnancies.

  9.  @paultrebor2910  Not so sure about that, I thought it was a criminal offence to carry a weapon, although it can be difficult to prove intent.

  10.  @markotik75  Like you say I think it depends if you have a reasonable excuse for carrying a knife. I am sure if you have a knife in a carrier bag in packaging and said you have just bought a new kitchen knife for filleting fish, it is pretty unlikely that you could really make any charge stick.

  11.  @deraufallesscheisser7759  I was in Cambridge going to an open-air free jazz event in a public park, I had taken a picnic with a sharpish knife for the pork pie. Think the police were looking for drugs, found knife, just said it was for the pork pie, no problem.

  12.  @amyteeling2141  No I don't think that you are joking and I am only sorry that the criminal justice system is not much tougher on men that commit violence against women. If the guy had, had a serious sentence for one of his 171 prior convictions then maybe either he would have changed his ways or he might have been inside instead of inflicting pain on your family. My condolences.

  13. Completely agree, would have assumed that this sort of material was potential forensic evidence and that it should be handled in a completely clean area with officers in special suits with long gloves and hair covers to prevent contamination of DNA evidence.
