  1. "In June of 1969, Manson tasked Family member Charles "Tex" Watson with gathering money to prepare for the world conflict. He began by defrauding a drug dealer named Bernard "Lotsapoppa" Crowe. When Crowe realized he had been duped, he publicly threatened to wipe out the Family. In response, Manson showed up at his Hollywood apartment and shot him with the same gun that would be used in the Tate murders one week later. Crowe survived. He never reported the crime to the police."
