OK.
then let me try to deliver you from this silly nonsense.
Whether we are IN the EU or OUT of the EU ...
If we are IN the EU the EU wants to do all the negotiating for us. And TTIP was on the cards, and something I did not want because of all the
. Lobbying
. Secrecy
. Obscurantism
. Lack of democracy
of the EU doing TTIP with the USA.
Trump doesn't like multilateral trade deals, and I think he is RIGHT. He MUCH prefers bilateral trade deals because they are much better tailored and can be updated without too much fuss.
If we are IN the EU, the UK has very very little control over that. So it's a double whammy.
Once we are OUT of the EU we can negotiate trade deals on our OWN TERMS and if we don't like the deal, we don't have to take it.
And whether in, or out, you and I as individuals have little say over what is negotiated. That is done at a national government level, for obvious reasons, because our national governments are authorised to deal with each other over those issues.
It doesn't MATTER that we are the UK.
ANY country that wants to have a bilateral trade deal with the USA will have to negoatiate with them. And vice versa. THAT IS SIMPLY LIFE. There is NOTHING you can do about that accept realise that THAT is how life actually IS.
If you don't like "US Rubbish" then my advice is .... DON'T BUY IT.
Because if you don't like it, you have the ultimate power to decide NOT TO BUY IT.
On the other hand, if you LIKE something, you can BUY it if you have the money to do so. That's the BEAUTY of markets. Nobody is FORCING you to buy anything. You don't have to.
If the USA wants access to our health care system, we have two options.
We can agree to that or we can disagree ... that is a matter for the goverment to judge.
We can ask for quid pro quo's
We can simply rule it out and the US government will have similar restrictions. They don't like HAGGIS being sold in the USA.
They are perfectly entitled not import haggis. We CAN'T FORCE THEM to and they can't FORCE US to have chlorine bleached chicken that all the remoaners WHINE on about.
It's really simple.
Stop worrying yourself about it because you have little power over it. In the EU you have less power because they negotiate for 28 countries, not just ours. So everything goes down to a bottom line.
On our own we can be MUCH MORE dynamic and trade things off against other things. That's what trade deals are about.
So really. Stop making such a big deal about it because the UK is about to do what ALL of those countries around the world ROUTINELY DO. We are about to negotiate FOR OURSELVES. What is the PROBLEM?
