Perhaps he can explain to the UK people why the failing, failing, floundering eu is a better option than bailing out and going it alone? When the Italians start borrowing above they debt to GDP ratio that the eu permits member states to run, and the time comes when there is a clash in the eu with italy, i predict it will lead to a drop in the value of the euro (because the eu is a DEBT UNION, let's face it)... The point may come that more bailouts are necessary, and it is CERTAIN that the Germans won't be able to stump up a bailout to cope with italy.... What then? UK will have the GBP. We have the freedom to REACT to economic pressures... The eu is stuffed. My guess is that the eu will expel italy from the euro zone. Which is fine because the euro has decimated their economy, lo, these twenty years....

@Godhorus it's not ironic. And Hong Kong is was not a member of a federalising superstate telling it which weights and measures to use. The EU won't throw out italy because it can't and i never said it would. I said that the eu would ultimately be forced to expel italy from the euro zone and i notice you haven't countered that. Because it's clear that the eu is a debt union but it most certainly does not have the resources to deal with the Italian economy. Italy has been stagnant for two decades thanks to the euro and don't even bother trying to paper over that. I know what your game is. The euro is fatally flawed unless the eu gets control fiscally, financially and monetarily over its members and that basically spells the end of nation States. People are realising that now. The UK are in a great position because we avoided the euro like the plague and we will damn well PAY TO GET OUT of the eu. Because we instinctively know that the eu is fucked.

@mark-ish Brexit was accomplished at precisely 2300GT 31st Jan 2020. We are no longer members of the EU. we have successfully exited the EU and are no longer members of the EU.
