well I expect that tax is something that you and the EU cratz endeavour to avoid by any and all means. but actually it's not a tax. but our EU membership certainly is.

+simon199418 the British are not equals. we are one of only two net contributors to the EU budget. yet Time After Time we are ignored and every ecj decision is against the UK. every last one. we didn't create the Euro crisis but we had to contribute through the IMF whether we like it or not. there is so much that is evil about the EU it would take me hours to unravel it. you are welcome to stay in the EU I want to get away from it.

+Jasminewynja thank you for your perspective and insight. I believe the real European Union is the actual Union between people like you and I who can discuss have our views yet love our own nationalities. I respect your nation like you respect ours. that is the best kind of Union because it means we can be friends.

+simon199418 only Germany and the UK are net contributors to the EU budget. the UK has no wish or desire to impose rules or laws another European Nations. actually we want them to be free to be who they are. we don't want to dictate social policy 2 anybody. in fact we simply want to have a social policy that fits our own needs. and we wish your country to have a social policy that fits your needs. that is our mindset. unfortunately membership to the EU precludes that.

+simon199418 Simon countries all over the world have agreements about movement of skills and labour. I went to Australia in 1970 on the £10 ticket with My Father who was a maths lecturer. no EU membership was necessary. agreements can be made and deals can be done it happens all the time internationally. the EU is not God Almighty. people have been trading and moving for thousands of years without the help of the EU commission. as for privilege ... if we felt privileged we wouldn't be thinking about our freedom the way we are.

+Jasminewynja ok thanks I'll check that out further I may have miss heard something.
1
+Jasminewynja it's possible that I heard that Germany and the UK are the two highest net contributors ... so I'll check that out.

+simon199418 the MEP we elect have no right to make legislation. the EU commission are the sole body with the right to propose legislation. they are not elected they are appointed. you cannot fire them. there are 28 of them and they are appointed. all our laws from the EU come from the appointed ones. the MEP get £3,000 a month for expenses only. they need to present no receipts. zero. 1 MEP today in Britain got a four year prison sentence for paying for his divorce using his £3,000 a month payment. the MEPs are crooks (not all ..) and the lawmakers EU commission unrepresentative and not voted for. the EU is the opposite of democracy the 100% opposite. once you understand that exit is a given.
1
+simon199418 you are appealing to Wikipedia for your argument? listen Simon. ... I do not want an appointed legislature. period. it is undemocratic. period. I don't want It nobody asked for it. in 1976 we voted to join the European Economic community we did not vote to have an unelected legislature. that was foisted on us by our lying governments. liar after liar after liar. we have had enough of Lies and liars. we want no more lying liars. we want all the liars sacked. we want them fired. that's the gentle way. the revolutionary way is to have them guillotined. do you understand that?
1
+Jasminewynja YES! when we can make our own decisions. and the beauty is I respect you and your country because you have your own self-confidence. you can respect us because we have our self-confidence. so we can trade and exchange skills and labour because we respect one another. isn't that wonderful!?
1
+Jasminewynja and we did all that without having to have 28 appointed elite lawmakers ....!!
1
+Jasminewynja I want your country to be free. free to make its own laws and own decisions about social policy about taxation about spending priorities. that is what makes a strong Europe. your freedom.

+simon199418 you have a really negative view of relations between European countries. the reality is we British love Europe. we love the diversity we love the different food we love the cultures. we want to come and visit those countries. and enjoy the countryside the museums the culture the food the lifestyle everything. the non-EU view of Europe is much more positive then you think. it celebrates the differences the diversity and the cultures that make Europe so interesting and diverse and dynamic. I challenge you to embrace the real dynamism of Europe ...

+Mister Furious you know with this EU structure all the dynamism of Europe is sapped out. I never really quite seen it like that until now but all the energy of Europe is vampired out by this monolithic homogeneous homogenising authority but wants to make all of Europe vanilla flavoured. I don't want a vanilla flavoured Europe I want Neapolitan ice cream Europe

+simon199418 a380 without EU? my father worked on the mathematics of the Concorde Prior to the EU. his job was to mathematically calculate the centre of gravity on the Concorde. Simon .... European countries can co-operate without having Deus x EU in charge. we've done it in the past and it can be done again. we don't need homogenising agent to do that.
1
+simon199418 I wouldn't know about your top 10 list Simon. but I remember the posters of the Concorde on our rumpus room wall when I was a little boy. and I remember my father telling me about how he calculated the centre of mass on the Concorde. any argument will do for you but I am talking about reality. do you really think that a homogenised second rate pathetic Europe will do for me after that?
1
+Mister Furious if you want to settle for a second rate Europe knock yourself out. just don't expect me to settle for it.
1
+simon199418 I'm pretty tired Simon I need to sleep now. but the UK has a very keen sense of Human Rights. habeas corpus is built into our DNA. we don't need the EU to tell us about Justice seriously.
