Ioannis Periptero I can't speak for the authorities but I personally want greece to have access to its own heritage

Ioannis Periptero you're a gormless ignoramus. Read the Five President's Report.
1
Ioannis Periptero try and stop us The EU are certainly trying. They've been nothing but evil and indignant with the UK, just like you.
1
José Dourado lol I'm IN the EU. I LIVE in the EU. I'm a UK citizen. What I need is a looooong holiday FROM the EU.
1
José Dourado I know you're pretty dumb, you can't help it. ....
1
Ioannis Periptero I'd do it today. But there is a process. We invoked article 50 and that is a treaty agreement stipulating two years to navigate through arrangements. That is to buffer changes for the UK AND for the EU. I know you're pretty dumb and you can't help that. But try to understand we are following the treaty agreement. I know that's hard ...
1
Ioannis Periptero Okay. I'll try to treat you like your simply uninformed. The article 50 clause is part of our TREATY AGREEMENT with the EU. When we trigger it, we AGREE on a period of negotiation. That is to the benefit of both the leaving member and the EU. To make arrangements. Do you actually comprehend that?
1
Ioannis Periptero you sold them to us. Suck it up. If you weren't so dumb we'd consider sharing them for alternative years.
1
Ioannis Periptero let me tell you something. Nothing would please me more than that the Greek people could display the Elgin marbles. If your government would agree to having them in Greece for one year an British museum next, we would be VERY open to that. As it is the partenon stones are displayed in possibly the finest anthropomorphic museum IN THE WORLD where people see them in the context of WORLD HISTORY. IF the Greek people could agree a sharing arrangement, we would be very pleased.

A the Dragon of Γαῖα thank you emporer palpatine.

A the Dragon of Γαῖα well I notice that only pro EU posts get "highlighted" on this channel Theresa may is another "politician" She is a pathetic loser. She was an IDIOT home secretary and she is a useless pm But it doesn't matter She will soon be gone. Like the grass that today is, and tomorrow is hewn down and thrown into the furnace ... Like YOU Like Remoaners Like the EU Your days are numbered The EU is finished Mene mene tekel upharsim.

Ioannis Periptero oooohhhh .. Touched a nerve there ...

Ioannis Periptero let me stretch out a hand .. 40% of UK people want to return the Elgin marbles to Greece. 15% of UK people want to keep them. The remainder have no opinion or are undecided. I personally would LIKE the Greek people to have their own historical heritage to show. BUT. I DO understand that where they are, they are preserved and safe. Also they are in the context of a world renowned anthropomorphic and historical museum. People come from Japan and queue to see these historical artifacts. And it's the context that matters to me At the same time I totally understand the Greek context and desire for historical connection. IF IF the Greek government would AGREE to letting the marbles be shown on alternative years in the British museum, I am quite sure we could reach a truly friendly and understanding agreement. The world would benefit from seeing the marbles in a full anthropomorphic and historical context in UK. AND the world could see the marbles in the context of greek history and art and architecture. EVERYONE would win. How about five years in Greece / five years UK? I am not being equivocal. I actually believe BOTH contexts add something to people who are interested in History. ..... Are you prepared to talk? And we would sign any deal that guarantees the secure and safe transfer ....
1
Ioannis Periptero sure There is no imperative to trigger article 50. We can do it when the dust settles. I know you think you can boss us around but A. You can't B. That's just one of the reasons we decided to leave.
1
Ioannis Periptero Actually I am softening my heart to you. I don't agree with you but I understand your perspective better. Speaking personally, I'd like to see the Elgin marbles on display in Greece. You need to get a deeper understanding of why leave voters voted Leave in UK. One of the MAIN reasons I voted to leave was how the EU treated Greece. I was very angry when the EU imposed bailouts in Greece and blocked the bank accounts of Greece people I felt that Greece was treated unfairly and the fault was with banks, auditors, government, EU and Goldman Sachs. I felt that Greece had been trapped. Greece are being punished for the lies and deceit of the EU. And remember, I went through the period when the Greek books were cooked and we ALL KNEW IT. the EU knew it. The public knew it The Greek government knew it. ..... I knew it The Greek people were USED to add credit to the euro. But it was a TRAP. AND I WANT YOU FREE.
1
Okan KayA Well That's fine The Europeans are free to choose their direction It is NOT the direction the UK chooses. The Soviet idea has been tried before. If you insist on it ..... I wish you the best. I wish you well I wish you peace and prosperity It is simply not the UK mentally I enjoy the DIVERSITY of Europe. I like the culture and character of each European country. .... I like UK, with all its faults, being UK If you see a homogeneous humanity ahead ... It's your choice. It's not mine

Ioannis Periptero no The Scottish remain distinctively Scottish. They have their own Parliament and their law is diverse from England. Same for Ireland Same for Wales, they have the Welsh assembly. The isle of man is governed by the lieutenant governor and the council of ministers. Jersey is a crown dependency with autonomous self government. The outer Hebrides are under the control of Scotland and the language is predominantly Scottish Gaelic. That's why we are the united kingdom of England Wales Scotland and Northern Ireland. And the isle of Wight is represented in the commons as one constituency. Then there are British overseas territories.... But this has been thrashed out for centuries. The EU came into being in 1994 but already wants . Monetary . Fiscal . Financial . Tax harmonisation . Debt mutualisation . Budget approving . Foreign policy setting . Standing military Powers and as it stands the EU law can actually trump, ie override our laws. And yours. In fact the EU are in the process of forcing Poland, Hungary, Czech republic and Slovakia to accept their refugee quotas. I assure you, the UK would NEVER DREAM of doing that to any of its constituent countries. It would be an outrage.

Ioannis Periptero EU law trumps UK law EU can absolutely overturn ANY UK law it sees fit. Ioannis I have spent YEARS dealing with an illness. I have to get medicines banned by the EU. I buy them through eBay. From India. From Thailand From USA. Amongst others. I have had to research and find answers for something that makes me have skin rashes and discomfort every day. The EU BANNED the inexpensive and EFFECTIVE medicines that helped me. So now I have to break the LAW to feel functional every day. Why? Because the EU listening to PHARMACEUTICAL lobbies. To ban cheap effective treatment. And tell me to use expensive "treatment" that DOESN'T WORK. stop there and think about that. That's not the only reason I regard EU as the Mafia. I remember what EU did to Greece and Cyprus. Bail out and bail in. Bail outs are against the EU OWN RULES I voted to get away from a . Failed . Hypocritical . Manipulative . Lying . Corrupt Organisation that I literally see as my personal enemy. I would take up ARMS against the EU if was capable They are fired mate. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
