  1. She is not proposing a transition period. She is proposing an implementation period. There will be no transition. The implementation period is for establishing instruments and processes for an agreed deal. We leave end of march 2019. No longer members. She proposes we pay for the remainder of the EU budget round. That takes care of our financial obligations. We continue trading as before but we do not have EU representation. After implementation period we switch to new mechanisms and processes. Neither extension nor transition. If the EU reject it, UK can cite EU intransigence as grounds for abandoning trade talks and settings our own leave date. If they agree they have no excuse for not starting trade talks.

  2. The Ball well that's as may be. It doesn't matter because we now have grounds to withdraw from talks if they don't move to trade talks. She's just a means to an end for me. A throwaway PM. I actually don't care who the pm is. Once the repeal bill is passed, the remoaners resistance is finished.
