None of what Ollie says could be implemented anyway, unless it was in a fully communistic society - and when would that be??? (And how would we know it wouldn't be taken over by dictators, just like the Soviet.Union? 😏)
And it wouldn't be fair to expropriate landlords without compensation, anyway. Particularly not if they were ordinary people not corporations. What if they had taken out mortgages - who would pay those? What if they were depending on them for a pension?
Ollie is an idiot! 🙂 Maybe I should go over and tell him. You couldn't do what he proposes *anyway*, in any modern society, based on the rule of law - especially not if it had a Constitution! Basically nobody would vote for it, so they wouldn't empower a government to do it! 😏
You can only do things like that, if you're a Hitler, and want to steal Poles and Jews' land, to give it to Germans.
I do wish some people on the Left would grow up! The road to socialism has to be more gradual and measured than that!
Incidentally, your points, including about the land tax (now that was a proposal of the last UK Labour leadership, was it not?? 🙂) were pretty excellent..👍
