  2. Nah. Neo-Heathen here! 🙂 Thor's more the god of Thunder, and strength. Odin's more the god of war (and poetry), and he has Wednesday (Which is probably taken from the Anglo-Saxon version of his name, Woden.) Sunday's the day of the sun, Monday of the moon. Tuesday belongs to Tew, otherwise known as Tiw. (One of the gods who has an entire aett of runes to his name.) Friday always belongs to the fertility gods (Norse Frey and Freyja) and Gods know who Saturday was named after, but most modern accounts say it belongs to Loki. (Who is my Patron! 🙂👍)

I never HAVE yet seen burgundy-coloured sea: BUT the deep shades of Cornish seas near the shore, during the summer and at other times of year, ranging from a dark blue to a dark green, surprises me not at all, that someone would come up with the adjective "wine-dark". I assume that these dark colours of sea are also prevalent in the Med: since it is not so far as I know full of white coral sands beaches!

  9. Well: we still occasionally speak of "a swarthy man", meaning in my estimation a man with a lot of dark hair and beard! (I don't think it means person of colour...)
