  18. With regard to your last observation, Gary (about the young being poor and opportunity-less) the truth is, I find, *that this is not a new thing*. It was the same during the end 1980s/1990s. There was a terrible recession on, worse than the 2008 one. Rents were high in proportion to average wages. Wages for young people. Including white-collar/office wages, were low. And so on. ALL due to Thatcherism. So what has changed? 😏

  19. Well. I'd say that in order to fight corruption, we must FIGHT corruption, wherever it occurs. Instead of trying to put the blame/onus on the poor all the time. And isn't it simply time to (re)nationalise a whole load of stuff? 😏 Pity Kid Starver has already broken all his pledges, to do at least some of that.

  39. That's a new one on me. I've bought basic economics textbooks, and they don't contain a single equation. It's all theories. If modern economics is so "scientific" and maths-based, why are economists' results such garbage, around the world? Why do they now reject the only thing that ever worked - Keynesianism - and chancellors waffle about economies being like household budgets? Is economics all an illusion? Does maths help with stock trading? (And did Rachel Reeves ever do any higher maths? 😏)

  44. So what is thus "hard data" on immigration, then? All this rubbish that "people in small boats take up the housing" is just that. Most of them live in crap non-residential accommodation or even detention centres, until they are finally processed. All the non-refugee immigrants work in essential jobs, or pay massive fees to study here.
