  1. What a fuss about nothing. Well, not nothing, but they're approaching it in the wrong manner. Cutting down half the trees? Shouldn't people plant MORE trees: not little scrubby things, but FORESTS of large trees, so as to attract rain? Maybe the government should plant cork forests, like they have in Portugal. And of COURSE you shouldn't build houses in nature reserves! Civilised countries don't allow it. I'm surprised the EU doesn't stop it. And as for Iceland: I thought volcanic ash grew things well? Why don't they plant marram grass on some of these crumbly soils? They do un Cornwall to stabilise sand dunes.
