  2. Hey pal!! Nice idea for a video, if a bit skimpy and short (I had a similar idea for a sf story a few years ago: sorta "The Sleepers Awake", but mainly based on language differences. But at least one of my characters had a childhood prior to ubiquitous internet and social media: so they remember the learning process once they got into those: so they quickly start to catch on in Future World! 🙂) BUT: To make your video more immersive and "believable" somehow, you would need to speak instances of the "future" or "pidgin" languages. Showing unintelligible lettering on the screen, really doesn't cut it! I want to HEAR a projection of future English!! 🙂

  3. Well: I agree that a language/culture that thinks the future is "unreal" is interesting: and it has a point! However, I don't think that this concept is very practical, for a Western/modern civilisation. Hasn't Maya borrowed the words for "Before", "Yesterday"; "Today", "Tomorrow" etc from Spanish by now? 😏
