  2. If you bought someone's flat in the UK, and it wasn't theirs to sell, the situation would be exactly that! (It has happened, and a con-couple tried to do that to my parents' flat once many years ago. Luckily my mother saw the advertisement in the small ads column of the Sunday Times...)

  10. Yes. I have read of this sort of thing happening in the UK (where I live) more than once.. I believe the "adverse possession" length of time in England is 12 years... We got full control of our driveway by such means. Anyway. At least the builder maintained the house! If you leave a house to go derelict for decades...

  19. English person here. Local councils in the UK do this all the time; ESPECIALLY if you don't have "planning permission", WHETHER you own the land or not! 😏

Thanks for giving us a heads-up on the update! 🙂👍 Here's my take 🙂: This Welsh council are going to be the defendants in this civil case. Supposing they don't WANT to be sued for multimillions? Supposing they don't want to risk the council going bankrupt? Supposing, conversely, the council members are tempted by the idea of 10% of those 800 bitcoin?? And the idea of their little town, becoming, conversely, "Dubai"? Supposing there is pressure for the "Dubai gamble" from local voters? 🙂 Most civil lawsuits are resolved by reaching a settlement. Why doesn't the council just settle to have the dump excavated? Lots less legal fees... 🙂

  35. HOW ridiculous, as well as evil!! 😢 HOW can a goat be worth $900 solely in terms of MEAT?? Goats aren't that big! Maybe the mother originally thought the goat would be used for breeding or something. I doubt that the girl had any say in the matter. Anyway: the local cops certainly made the taxpayers pay for their mistake, didn't they? 😏
