  9.  @arkuis  The Independent newspaper says that Corbyn was only 2,227 votes away (in marginal seats) from a victory. Apparently, he would have had to take 7 of these seats away from the Cons, to yes, go into coalition with smaller parties. They would have all agreed, had that Bern the situation.

  10. @arkuis  Circumstances are everything. It is perfectly possible for a weasel like Starmer, to "win" an election by default. It won't make him my PM. 👎 (& I think that George Galloway is right. He says that a directly elected PM (in a quasi presidential election) might be better for Britain. It would save us from a whole string of unelecteds: Major (originally), May, Truss, Sunak. Would also stop weasels underhandedly obtaining the role, by wriggling their way to the top of an opposition party by means of lies: and then "winning" by waiting for the tide to turn against the incumbent government. 😏)

And according to your reasoning (and due to our terribly unrepresentative FPTP system), Nigel Farage was a failure as a politician, because he failed to win so much as a seat. If you were applying the same argument to Farage, you would be saying he had no influence at all. That, sadly, is not so. 😏

  23. @Extra-dg7uv  Hmm. I'm sure Failtube have censored another of my comments of this thread. I made the point, that the 2000 US election, with particular regard to its Florida results, was STOLEN. All serious commentators admit this now. It was first exposed by US journalist Greg Palast for the BBC. There were "butterfly ballots", voting machines that wouldn't punch out the paper properly; retirees in a heavily Jewish area being tricked (because of the poor ballot paper design) into voting for a fascist, namely Pat Buchanan. And so on; and so forth. I wouldn't use that election as an example of anything above board!

  28. Then the Labour Party should have elected someone like Galloway as leader! He's showman and pugilist both. Trouble is, Tony Blair chucked him out of the party. It was officially over Iraq, but maybe the "frontman" thing was another reason why... 😏 Anybody who thinks Starmer is a good frontman has to be joking. He has the appeal of a bucket of cold sick. 😏 But none of the MSM bothers to criticise the latter much... Establishment types are always given an easy ride.
