  2. They both got sacked by the BBC. Gordon Brown the then PM weighed in with a statement. But the pair of them were trying to be "edgy", I suppose. Ross shoudl definitely have known better.

  7. What a pair of unfunny plonkers. But I don't see what bearing this has on the current accusations, Professor. And that was quite a while ago, and both the pair were disciplined by the BBC, by having their radio show cancelled. And Gordon Brown even weighed in... Isn't that punishment enough? Anyway. Brand was definitely still on the drugs/alcohol back then. Years since, he has turned his life around. And just WHY aren't people currently re-digging-up Jonathan Ross' behaviour, and pestering him about it, then? He was DEFINITELY old and experienced enough back then, to know better. I'm not sure whether Brand was. He has emotionally grown much since. If you want someone to blame, Professor Wilson: tell me that Jonathan Ross was irresponsible, led Brand astray, and egged him on in the case you are currently dissecting.

  12. But he wasn't phoning a woman in this old recording. He was phoning a fellow actor, Andrew Sachs. And got his ansafone. It was a pretty crass phone call, but he didn't actually DIRECT it at a woman.

  13.  @gavinreid9184  Hmm. Her relationship with her family... Because prior to that, grandad Sachs did not know Brand had been GB's boyfriend? I can't see how that's worse than leaving messages on a woman's answerphone. On a woman's answerphone, such messages might be interpreted as threatening.
