@annesmschronicles9307 Yes, you're right. 👍 Possibly on both counts! Now, the thing is, as far as I know, there is no "life imprisonment" for juveniles, only "at her/his majesty's pleasure". Maybe they made an exception in this maybe it was just when the law was changing, I'd have to look it up again. However, with persistent parole breaking, I'm sure the parole board/Home Secretary can do something to keep him inside..

There ARE no life sentences, for child offenders in the UK! What ARE you talking about? Honestly, it amazes me how many people on here don't seem to have an iota of knowledge about the law. Still, it is TalkTV, so....

@melgrant7404 Can't give a whole life term to kids. Particularly not preteen kids. (Anyway, this whole GBeebies talking point type thing is a bit of a stupid discussion. Kids occasionally kill kids in Scandinavian countries. Nobody puts them in jail there, let alone for life. Or in "youth offender centres" with kids years and years older than them. They just get sent to the psychiatrist. That's what civilised countries do. NB, the US isn't included in those! 😏)

@sutty85 It's not really good putting juveniles in jail for life without parole, either. The US (a non-civilised nation 😏) does it. It doesn't know what to do with these juveniles once they're in there, either. They don't receive any therapy, training or proper education. That is child abuse.👎

@lyndairakleous4131 This is nonsense: and you are naive. "Drive" criminals, as the Germans call them ("Triebmörder") are driven by warped sexual instincts that are beyond the call of reason. Also these are CHILDREN we are talking about. According to scientific consensus, adult thinking skills are not fully possible for most individuals below the age of 21. It has now been recognised that the human brain fully matures around the age of 25. Look it up!

@thewr0ngchild You can't WAIT until someone's 18, and THEN execute them, numpty!! 🙄🙄 WHAT kind of society, including those with capital punishment, does THAT?? Saudi Arabia? Maybe. (They also crucify people, btw. 😏) The USA doesn't even do it: and they're hardly civilised, but they do have a proper legal system. You have to sentence the offender appropriately for the age they were when they COMMITTED the offence, not retrospectively! 😏🙄
