He must have loved us a great deal, however.... ๐ข

What's wrong with us having free will?!??
2
Oh: and Epimetheus was Prometheus's younger, dumber brother!! ๐ It was him who let Pandora open Pandora's box, loosing all the ills upon mankind!
2
You keep repeating this EVERYWHERE, Mr Glow stick!! Well, so I'm going to repeat MY message! Tricksters rock bigtime!! Prometheus rocks; and so does Loki!! (Not even Rick Riordan gets the latter halfway right. ๐) They ARE RIGHT to challenge authority!! ๐ฆ
2
Does it??
1
ย @YouWinILoseย Interesting! I'll look it up! :)
1
Interesting! I'll look it up! :)
1
That's what Shelley thought, isn't it?!
1
ย @Sotalol014ย (Only Aeschylus says Hercules sets him free... Aeons later.)
1
ย @uniqueglow9541ย No: Aeschylus for one liked Prometheus and thought he was a great friend to Mankind! โบ๏ธ
1
ย @carlojimeneztraderย Well not all Gods can be omnipotent... โบ๏ธ Christians are so boastful about their gods!! (And yes, they do have more than one, as the doctrine of the Trinity proves!)
1
ย @uniqueglow9541ย "Stole fire and hid it in his house and played with it" - LOL!! ๐๐๐๐
1
ย @salometipsandtricks2786ย Do you really think that pagan gods were Nefilim?
1
(What did he do with it when he was tired of playing with the fire ๐ฅ - Travel north and sell it to Loki?? ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐)

ย @uniqueglow9541ย Well: I AM a Lokean... ๐๐๐๐๐ (Full disclosure: albeit not that hard to guess! ๐) And NO, I don't see any great "inconsistencies" in any of those parallels you have chosen to make: Prometheus, Loki, Jesus Christ.... ALL in their day, and way, revolutionary figures! No doubt about that! โบ๏ธ P B Shelley said the same about Jesus who gets mentioned in his Prometheus Unbound... As for Loki... The point of him often gets obscured, because the medieval (Christian) Norse preferred to portray him as a villain, as he is in Marvel comics and movies to this day! ๐ YA mythological novelist Rick Riordan sadly doesn't do much to challenge this: *but he does make the comparison between Prometheus and Loki*, as it says on his Magnus Chase wikia.. As for most Christians: generally they don't like any comparison between pagan gods and their Founder. Why, where do you fall on this??
1
ย @carlojimeneztraderย Nuffink is omnipotent = all-powerful. Nothing I know, anyway. Everything is self-limiting. So why not make friends with a more user-friendly God - one more like a big brother to look up to?! :)
1
ย @carlojimeneztraderย Ergh!!! Spare me !! (Note: If this "personal God" was as "Omni" everything as he (always a he!) Makes out... And not subject to Fate like the gods of all polytheistic religions - WHY would he have made the world such a toilet, in so many ways?? ๐)
1
No. Hercules/Heracles set him free. Aeschylus said so. Only his Prometheus Unbound is lost; so nowadays we have to read Percy Bysshe Shelley's.
1
Because he didn't want humans to sacrifice all they had to the gods??
1
Yeah. That's what I was thinking, sumedha. Like Galileo in the 16th century. Or anyone who speaks out against authority, or who tries to get the truth out! There are many of the latter sort of Prometheuses today! Julian Assange, anyone!
1
ย @uniqueglow9541ย Yeah. But there are EXCEPTIONS among Titans. Prometheus was one. (Loki was another. He's a Norse Titan really: a Giant.)
1
ย @Mondragora99ย Yup: Prometheus definitely represents progress!! ๐๐๐๐๐๐
1
See?? Zeus is just mean!
1
This only shows you that it's a pity that not more YA authors - such as Rick Riordan - think that Tricksters are the heroes!! YA writers who don't are too conformist-thinking by far!! โบ๏ธ
1
What are you referring to?!
1
@Md. Idris Ali Pramanik Lucifer gets pecked by birds? Who says?
1
ย @uniqueglow9541ย Yeah: I know Hesiod didn't like old Prom... But as to the rest of all that - Loki laughs!!!!!!!! ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
1
ย @uniqueglow9541ย I see you're in favour of the despots and tyrants then: who after a bit of flirting with radicalism to make themselves popular, come down and "justly punish" all who dissent... Nice to know what side of history you're on! ๐
1
ย @uniqueglow9541ย Yeah: and I'm sure eg Jรณsef Stalรญn would have said the same about himself: or got his propagandists to... ๐ (What's wrong with tricks anyway - if you are oppressed?? And when has a Trickster ever been "mediocre"? Have you ever read Lewis Hyde?)
1
Who were the first generation?
1
So what's your version?
1
Very nice. But J R R Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings doesn't have any VALKYRIES in it! THEY belong to Wagner's Ring cycle of operas. ๐
1
Yeah peeps: you SEE what the big sky god does to the demiurge (that's a kind of deputy, or subcreator god), when the Foresight guy tries to help those little creatures known as humans, aspire "beyond their station"?? Now you see why Trickster gods the world over are either dissed - or worshipped, but the stories say that like Prometheus, they met a horrible fate?? ๐ Those little humans aren't meant to aspire! Woe to Titans that help them!! Well: that's what big daddy sky gods say.. โบ๏ธ
