She used draconian powers to cripple trades unions because she saw them as the bastions of power for the working class. Who threatened HER class, the ruling class. (As the miners proved with Ted Heath. Hence her hatred of the mining industry in this country!) Garbage strikes and a dithery Callaghan government were just used by the Tories as an excuse to gain power. She then proceeded to gut the manufacturing base of this country, leading to the problems we still suffer from today.
